Swindon

Abbey Scaffolding were tasked with providing full access to the road side elevation of the historic Pattern Church, part of the former GWR railway in Swindon.

The Scaffolding was engineered to be fully supported from gallows brackets drilled into the wall, to allow full use of the main road beneath whilst works were taking place to cause as minimal disruption to this busy part of the town as possible with the only road closure required to install the first lift and Gallows brackets using MEWPS.

Fortunately, the brickwork of the 19th century building easily withstood the loads required, this was determined by extensive tie testing prior to the Scaffold being built.
