Marks and Spencer, Designer Outlet Village, Swindon

We were tasked with erecting the Scaffold over the M&S shop floor at the Designer Outlet Village in Swindon so that the roof lights could be replaced. This was made particularly challenging due to the shop being required to remain open during the day time, Due to this, all internal works were completed throughout the night by a team of 8 operatives. The internal crash deck was erected by supporting the centre on the large steel beam that runs throughout the store and each side was drilled using shear plates into the walls. Shear tie testing was carried out to ensure that the walls could withstand the loads of the scaffold. The external Scaffold was erected during the day time resulting in having a team on site for 22 hours a day in total.
